Upgrade the durability and look of the walls and siding of your horse facility with White Oak.
White Oak is naturally resistant to moisture, insects, and horses. It’s true, they hate the taste and it’s so dense that it’s physically hard to chew. When we sell White Oak materials for putting up a wall covering we bevel all 4 sides of the boards, which has two main purposes. Those being, it gives a really nice, finished look and it removes any sharp edges that could catch.
Before ordering there are a few factors that should be considered.
The finished look, the process of installation, and storage.
Look: We’ve included a variety of photos to show the different projects our customers are enjoying. Long boards can give a more smooth and modern look, however they are bulky and harder to handle. The shorter boards are loved for their rustic, contrasting appearance.
Installation: The shorter the board, the more DIY friendly it is. White Oak is dense and heavy, which is great in the long run. Figure that for each 1’ of length, the board weighs around 3lbs. Example, an 8’ board is about 24lbs.
Storage: Whether it’s while waiting to start the project, during, or for any extra material when completed, you will need the space to store appropriately. Longer boards will also be trickier to get through doorways.
We sell White Oak Wall Covering by the square foot. If you are unsure of how many square feet you need, we can help you with that. We will need the height, length, and arrangement of the project.
Note: Mixed Cut Offs range from 18” to 36” in length.
Examples:
A 12’x12’ wall is 144 square feet.
A 24’x4’ partial wall is 96 square feet.
A 36’x8’ wall is 288 square feet.
When in doubt, round up.
