Feels Like Home

Welcome to the sanctuary in the woods.

The exterior was thoughtfully designed for long term durability and creating harmony with the surroudings.

White Oak is a perfect complement and will last for decades.

This barn needs to provide a safe and inviting space for the three mustangs that live here, while also working in a therapy program. The white oak is perfect. It is not only strong and no-chew, it also absorbs noise and holds energy. There is no banging, clanging, or echoing.

The summer before the barn was able to be built, the owners put up a 50' Solid Bottom Round Pen which abuts the horses drylot. This entire project is on a small acreage that consists of a wooded ravine and rolling hills. The horses turnout space is enclosed by White Oak Fencing with portable fencing inside for a paddock paradise setup. Though limited in space, the owners prioritized as natural (yet safe) of an environment as they could for their mustang therapy horses.

Take a look at the photos above and you will note that there are dead trees. These trees died after the horses ate the bark off. The reason that we take the time to point this out is that even though the trees have been eaten, the fences and round pen have not been chewed.

This is what we mean when we say that White Oak is naturally chew proof.

White Oak Fencing Materials

In a similar vein, the horses also have a lean-to run in shed that is made of white oak materials.

The white oak is naturally rot resistant and more than strong enough to withstand kicks or being ran into. This building is safe, secure, and much safer than a metal sided building.

This project was a true labor of love for our clients.
